In 2011, top international travel agents voted Forte Village 'The World's Leading Green Resort' at The World Travel Awards. This important accolade recognises our policies to preserve resources and protect the environment and the fact that we implemented eco-friendly policies long before our contemporaries. As the planet gains, so do our guests. Our early decision to use only bicycles and electric vehicles within the village, for instance, saves energy while keeping the air clean and pure.
We've also pioneered water conservation, building our own rainwater reservoir back in the 1970s and installing a water recycling system a few years ago. Similarly, we've increased the proportion of refuse we recycle to 70%. And in another eco-friendly act, our expert gardeners are cultivating an organic fruit and vegetable garden.
