Thaermae del Forte treatment

Bath no. 1

Sea oil bath

This bath contains the highest saline concentration (30 degrees Baume) and has a temperature above 34 degrees centigrade. This high saline density produces an osmotic effect which stimulates a highly effective draining and anti-swelling action. Large quantities of magnesium in the first bath promote incredible muscle relaxation and improve electrolytic balance. The floating effect of the sea oil bath is greater than that of the Dead Sea and enhances the effects of muscle therapy which is ideal for stress.

This unforgettable experience offers many benefits. Immersion in this bath must be done slowly, taking care not to wet the face or get any water in the eyes. The high saline concentration reduces weight by 10%, taking pressure off the joints and relaxing the muscles. The high concentration of magnesium salts, and the body’s consequent absorption, stimulates a series of beneficial processes within the skin cells. This element is, in fact, almost always deficient in our bodies because of erratic dietary habits. Magnesium is essential for transmitting nerve signals and muscle communication. It also helps to form antibodies (immune defence). Like calcium, magnesium is essential for bone formation. A lack of magnesium is shown by irritability, tiredness, depression, cramps etc.

The temperature of the bath relaxes muscular tension as well as promoting psychological relaxation and a peripheral vasodilatatory action which improves metabolic exchanges between blood and subcutaneous tissues.
