A busy Easter with a happy ending
I was about to have a nervous breakdown when my husband managed to organise a week at the Costa Smeralda. We just made it to catch our flight and we went to Porto Cervo. It was like an Egyptian bazaar – the restaurants were restaurants and the quality of the food was poor, everything was very expensive, there were queues everywhere, the accommodation was disappointing, and the service terrible (we had to wait for 2 hours just to get a towel!). I read an article about Forte Village in Condé Nast. ...
When we got to Pula, we got an impeccable welcome, the room was pleasant and comfortable, and we had dinner by candlelight. The next day we slept until lunchtime. Friday and Saturday the weather was fine, on Easter day it was overcast. ... We had two days of good food, relaxing massages, and sound sleep. Thanks to Forte Village our holiday had a happy ending.
Good choice for the kids
With 2 kids aged 3 and 6 and an older girl, aged 12, its not always easy to find the right place to stay when you go on holiday. We’ve been to Sardinia a number of times, but it’s been 4 years since we’ve last been there. We found ourselves drawn towards the Forte Village as it seemed to offer the right solution for a family with a wide age range, and we stayed in a bungalow in the area called Il Borgo. The bungalow would have been just perfect for a couple with 2 kids…
Leisure Land was a great place with its swimming pool and slides. We didnt use the beach much, even though it was beautiful.
Our surfside wedding
My fiancé and I had taken a few extra days of vacation at Easter on a whim: my girlfriend is Sardinian (from Oristano) and I had been to Sardinia several times and had fallen in love with it. Last year we went to Forte Village and had a great time. We are both Catholic and really appreciated the fact that there was a church right there in the resort. So we got the idea that we could maybe get married there. ... When we got there they already knew everything (they had arranged flowers, fruit, and a bottle of wine in the room for us). We spoke to the Management and they are organising everything: the ceremony, the priest, the reception, even the wedding cake. It is fantastic. They are even giving us a free day in the spa. We are getting married at the end of September and we will spend our honeymoon there. So, if youre in the area, stop in for a slice of wedding cake!
