Understanding in relations between Italy and China was further consolidated with a meeting in Sardinia between Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.
The Chinese President landed at Cagliari for a technical stop on 16 November. It was an unofficial visit, but it took on a significant value, especially because of the wish to consolidate economic relations between Italy and China, with an eye of interest to Sardinia. Before dinner with Premier Renzi, the Chinese President visited the archaeological site of Nora.
As a venue for the meeting and dinner between the two leaders and their staff, the choice fell on the exclusive Forte Village Resort. Also this time the famous five-star resort of Santa Margherita di Pula did not disappoint expectations and, in spite of the state of maximum alert, was able to guarantee all the privacy and comfort necessary for the meeting.
As Premier Renzi had already pointed out on the occasion of the G20, there are many affinities between the two countries, which “share the same challenge: to be proud of the past and build for the future” and so what better place than marvellous Sardinia and the prestigious Forte Village to further the friendship.
