Forte Village Resort has been awarded the title of “Best Green Hotel in the World” at the “World Travel Awards”.
Its approach from the get-go has always been aimed at environment safeguarding and sustainable development, with programs geared towards conservation, protection and enhancement of the landscape.
Set across 50 hectares of lush parkland, Forte Village is a haven of biodiversity where hundreds of plant species thrive in harmony with our eco-conscious landscape design. Our dedicated gardeners work year-round alongside local authorities to preserve and enhance the natural ecosystem. We maintain our green spaces using environmentally friendly, biological methods for pest and disease control, ensuring plant health without harming the environment. The well-being of non-native animals is carefully monitored by expert veterinarians, reflecting our ethical approach to animal care. At Forte Village, we believe in nurturing future generations. Through hands-on, nature-based programs at our Kids Club, young guests discover the importance of environmental responsibility and sustainable living. In 2023, in partnership with local DMC FA Travel, our team took part in a reforestation project in the countryside of Ussana, South Sardinia planting carob, olive, and wild pear trees as a shared commitment to giving back to the land.

READ MOREWith over 300 days of sunshine each year, Sardinia offers the ideal conditions to transform sunlight into clean, renewable energy and Forte Village is making the most of it. Since 2016, solar panels installed on three of our hotels have been generating hot water, significantly reducing our environmental impact. In 2022, we expanded our efforts with a new solar power system at the Conference Center. The surplus energy produced also supplies the nearby Hotel Castello, maximizing energy efficiency and minimizing waste. Coming in 2025, a third large-scale photovoltaic system spanning 22,000 square meters next to the resort will increase our renewable energy capacity to 1.4 megawatts. This marks a major step forward on our path toward energy independence and carbon footprint reduction, powered entirely by the Sardinian sun.

We have redesigned daily operations with environmentally conscious solutions at every level of resort life. Traditional cars are no longer permitted within the resort and have been replaced by battery-powered golf carts and bicycles for both guests and staff, promoting clean and quiet transportation. LED lighting has been installed throughout all common areas to reduce energy consumption. Our parking areas are equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, and our vehicle fleet now includes a fully electric car further reducing our carbon footprint and advancing our commitment to sustainable mobility.
